About my Creative Practice
Carolin Frühauf’s paintings emerge intuitively — often following meditation or dream experiences — and combine natural observation, memory, and spiritual imagery. Her work forms visual sanctuaries: flowing, light-filled, and gently protective. They invite stillness, inwardness, and reflection.

In addition to her painting, she has developed a photographic practice with a documentary focus. Series such as “Heatwave” (UK 2019) and “Rivertales” (Portugal 2024) explore environmental change and the relationship between humans and landscape through poetic imagery. Her photography acts as a grounded, reflective counterpart to her intuitive painting.

“I am convinced that to express creatively is a form of healing for all humans. To point the gaze inward is necessary though. The lust to wonder, to be in awe, to see something mundane with curiosity, that is where we see through an artist’s eye again.”

Media and Artistic Approach
Carolin works with acrylics, watercolor, oil, ink, pastels, and natural materials. She is also a trained art therapist, yoga teacher, and member of a theatre ensemble. Her yoga-inspired somatic practice informs her creative process — integrating embodiment, awareness, and intuitive expression.

Her artistic work is rooted in a holistic worldview: she sees art as a visual offering — to soothe, reconnect, and remind us of what is essential.
